Knott Central Looking....

I am going to do what I can to find out, but according to the Louisville Courier Journal Knott Central may be looking for a new coach. It has, 1/2 way down the article that Hammonds is the "former Knott Central hall of fame baseball coach. Could be a mistake. I have heard some things but I could not get any confirmation. I will try to contact Coach Hammonds and see for sure or contact Knott's AD to see if he knows anything. Hammonds has spent the Summer coaching the Oldham Aces junior team.

The latest I have is that the people over the Oldham Aces had that put in ther paper. They want him to stay and he is listening to them. As of right now he is still Knott Central's coach.

The update on the junior team Hammonds is coaching may add more fuel to the fire. The Junior Oldham Aces won the Paducah tournament last week being the only team that was undefeated. They are in Owensboro starting today (playing Shelbyville) in the state tournament. If they win this tournament the Aces will go to Oklahoma in 2 weeks. I'm assuming for the American Legion League World Series.

One last thing, Hammonds likes for his teams to be competitive. Knott hasn't been competitive in the last few years. Even with some very good talent on the team they have only won the 55th District once in the last 5 years, give or take. They were once the most feared team in the 14th and now they are not. And it is looking like the future isn't too bright for baseball at KCC. They will only have 6 returning starters and no players on the bench. It's no secret that the other to main sports at KCC have head coaches that tell their players not to go out for baseball. It's a waste of time. And nothing is said to these guys. Anyway, with all this facing Gary and the success that he is having with his Oldham team, I will assume that Knott will have a new baseball coach come February. That just my opinion, though.
