The Streak...

I think that if a team were to get close, then they should have Trinity scheduled as the poss. 50th win or 51st. WOW, what a game that would be.

There was a whole lot of talk about that around here when Boyle was nearing the record.

^ and they weren't gonna play.

I know we wanted it not sure about Boyle something to do with games set. Should have played before the streak became an issue. I remember seeing a lot of the boys from Boyle watching the 01 title game Trinity and Male after they had just won their title. Would have been a great matchup in 02. I can not remember the QB's name from Boyle in those days but I remember that he was very impressive.

Did Trinity schedule the team that held the longest undefeated streak prior to Trinity breaking the streak?

Danville was the team...and I imagine that we wouldn't have turned them down...we have NEVER been known to shy away from competition.

Yes and prior to that we helped X twice end long streaks. We rather enjoyed those!!!!!!!!

Sure, I understand that and no one has said that Trinity has been known to shy away from competition. What I was pointing out was that Trinity did not affirmatively go out and schedule Danville when it was closing in on breaking the Danville streak-likewise, if a team is closing in on Trinity's win streak record they would have no obligation to go out and affirmatively schedule Trinity, as was stated in an earlier post.

^ That's true...but WE strenuously tried to schedule Boyle, as we will again, if necessary, I am sure.

Gotcha. And if a team closes on breaking the streak, I would expect that team to be about as anxious to play Trinity as Trinity was to play the former record holder when Trinity was closing on their streak.:D

^ we would've played if they called..... being #1 has its privelages.

Well...its always easy to say what would have been done after the fact. In reality, Trinity did not call, nor will the school that breaks this record call Trinity.:D

^ You can have your last word....we have the record and will do our best to keep it...end of story.

On that we can agree.
