The 3 day Semi-State format is so much better. It's just a real shame it didn't start a year earlier. Playing game 3 right after game 2 cost a lot of teams a trip to Applebee's that could have advanced otherwise.

As far as I'm concerned, it doesn't matter if it's played over two days or three days. I'm guessing the reason it is played over three days is the opportunity to maximize attendance and gate receipts.

 

I'm curious ... who do you think was hurt by the old format?

Playing in 3 straight days shows who the the best TEAM is IMO. Giving days off in-between just shows who has the best pitcher.

Agree, baseball is a team sport, and I believe these three game series played in just three days shows who has the best teams, not just who has the best single pitcher. The best team should move on, not just the team with the that one single great pitcher.
