BASEBALLFAN22 Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 Scott came back from 5 to 3 to tie it in the 7th and with 2 outs. Gutsy gutsy performance from Scott. Mutsch was not very good tonight. Was not too impressed with his control. Scott showed alot of heart in 2 days of this tournament. Robby Ryan pitched vey well and deserved a better outcome but errors cost it. Congrats to Brossart. The 37th district should be well represented in Regionals
SirMixAlot Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 In a re-match from last years finals, the mustangs pull it out again, however with a huge scare. The Eagles got up 3 nothing in the third with just 1 hit in the inning as Mustch was all over the place, The Mustangs how ever put up 5 in the 4th thanks to timely hitting and 3 Scott errors. Same Score in the 7th and the eagles come back again, getting bases loaded with no outs, and then the eagles 4th run was walked in. Then Bianchi pops up to the 2b how who makes a heck of a catch running in to short right turns around and throws Bitter out at the plate to keep the one run lead. Castleman follows with a game tying single. (I don't know if there has been a clutcher player in NKY than him in district play). The Mustangs answer in the 7th by getting the bases loaded and then Bezold(I believe anyway) knockin in Uebel for the game winner. Congrats to The Mustangs on the District Championship. Keep your heads up eagles, this game re assured that no matter the score, you guys also are capable of making a come back. Uebel gets the win and Robby Ryan suffers a CG loss. Congrats to Robby, Castleman and all the others who made all district tourney team.
statmanhensley Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 I hate to say this but I was not impressed with either team tonight. In all actuality, I have not been impressed with Brossart either of the times that I've watched their games this year. With that being said, the Scott coach should NOT have sent the player who got thrown out at home....the 2nd baseman was way too close to guarantee yourself a run so why try to get it? If the runner doesn't try to go, then the next player who had the RBI single could have potentially knocked in two runs. I guess hindsight isn't always 20/20. Enough of me rambling, congrats to both teams for not quitting when they got down. I will say that both teams played hard and they should be commended for that. Good luck to both in the regional tournament.
