These two teams meet up in the first round of the district. On paper you have to go with the Briar Jumpers. However the Maroons are starting to play their best ball of the year and are vastly improved. My heart says Pulaski, but my head says the Briar Jumpers. I think it will be a close game either way.

What are your thoughts on this one?

I have no idea why, but this seems like a game Pulaski County will win. I know Somerset is solid, but I'm going with the Maroons.

It will be a very, very tall task for the Maroons. Somerset is probably better at 7 of the 9 positions on the field. The Jumpers are more athletic. They have much more experience than Pulaski; at times the Maroons will have 3 freshmen, 3 sophomores, and an 8th grader on the field.

For Pulaski to win, they would have to play one of their best games of the year, while Somerset would have to have one of its worst.

I think for PC to win it would have to be a lowscoring affair. If Perkins and Smith can shut down the Jumpers offensively they have a chance. But I can't see PC scoring more than 3 against Wallen or Molen.

Somerset has not seen John Perkins this season. Game could be very close, depends on PC's defense. That IMO is the key. Jumpers at times have had trouble getting timely hits. I still think the Jumpers win in a close one.
