Today's Herald-Leader had a note about the team from Lexington that won the 2001 Cal Ripken World Series. The article pointed out that 11 of the 15 boys from that team are still playing HS ball in Lexington, and have been successful HS players. (3 have been on state championship winning teams and 3 on a state runner-up, with possibly more honors to come this year) I'm curious to know how many of the kids from Louisville that won the LLWS the very next year are playing HS ball.

That is very interesting. Some kids play their best ball at a young age and peak when they are 12 to 15 years old. Or, maybe other kids just catch up to them physically and mentally. It would also be interesting to know how many college or pro players would have considered themselves the best player on the team at that age.

Zach Osborne and I think one other player are with a HS team that made to to the state semi finals last year, It may be PRP, not sure though.

I think there are 5 on Butler's team, Ethan Henry, Wes Jenkins, Aaron Alvey.

I don't know the other 2.

Peanut Hornback is on PRP's JV team I believe. He was one year younger.

At least 3 are not playing, including the tall first baseman.
