who is the 8th grader that starts?

Morgan Johnson she plays first base and is also hitting very good.

Morgan Johnson is a heck of a ball player. I am told we can not only see her in varsity action, but that she will play against North Laurel in the middle school games when they play. She is not only very talented but a fierce competitor, ... no doubt from her mom and dad who were both excellent athletes in their day!

 

I know that Weaver has 5 middle schoolers playing with the varsity/jv right now (4 of the 8th graders and 1 from the 7th grade). Glorianne Cordero is starting varsity for the Jags as an 8th grader as well and had 2 of the 3 hits for NL against the Cardinals.

 

We have a lot of VERY good talent on both sides of town and the future in Laurel County softball is going to continue to be very bright! :thumb: The next several years will be very exciting!

 

I apologize for not giving Emily Gaines her due earlier. She is another GREAT player for the Cards and a good kid from a very good family. She will be a force!
