CovCath wasted a fine outing by right hand pitcher Josh Bleser today, by stranding 10 players on the bases against a very good Hamilton Badin Rams at Joyce Park today.

CovCath scored two of it's three run on a single by Maile and the third on a bases loaded walk. CovCath numerous times had men in scoring position but just couldn't get any more players to cross the plate. Twice today a CovCath runner was called out at first base on very questionable calls by the man in blue calling the bases, and both times it cost CovCath a run. Bleser was helped by some very good fielding by his CovCath team mates, who turned a beautiful double play. Conner (they call him Tom at Badin) Larkin had a great game not only at the plate but also in the field and Brandon Nutini had a beautiful sliding catch in right field to take a hit away from the Rams. In the bottom of the fifth (I think) Badin got a lead off triple and that runner went home on a wild pitch, but that was it off Bleser until the bottom of the sixth when Badin scored two runs off Bleser to tie the game. Coach Krumps then brought in the House (Dan Niehaus)to shut down the Rams for the rest of the inning. CovCath got runner's on in the top of the seventh but again couldn't get anyone across the plate. Dan Koester came in to pitch in the bottom of the seventh and got the first batter out, then the next batter got a texas league single. The Rams third batter in the inning bunted the ball back to the CovCath pitcher but after seeing that he couldn't get the man out at second he fumbled the ball and couldn't get the runner out at first either. The fourth and final Ram batter hit a line rope to center for a single and the runner from second came home for the Victory.

Hamilton Badin is now 10-1 and stands alone in first place in the tough GCL Central Division with their lone loss to Cincinnati baseball power house Elder. CovCath falls to 8-2 on the season.

Next up for CovCath is undefeated Boone County @ Boone County
