New classes, regions, and districts...

Featured Replies

With KY high school football now going to 6 classes, how will this affect the numbers of regions and districts in each class? For example, last year Highlands' classification was Class AAA, Region 3, District 5. What will HHS' classification be for 2007? Has all of this been finalized?

they are in class AAAAA, district 5. Not sure if I worded that correctly, but here's the link from the KHSAA

I noticed that the KHSAA did not specify the regions. By the way it's written, though, it still looks like the regional set-up is the same, though, with HHS being in region 3 again.

There are now:

Six Classes (1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A, and 6A)

Each class has eight districts (for example: 1A - District 1-1, District 1-2.....)

This will mean each class will have four regions, here is the catch - the regions change each year. For example: District 1-1 might play District 1-2 this year, then next year District 1-1 might play District 1-3.

Here is the link to the "future playoff pairings".

Regions aren't set, but districts are. In other words, you could be in region 3 this year and region 4 next year. This is because of the rotation we entered into for the 3rd and 4th round of the playoffs.

OK, Ram beat me to it. Look at the link he provided as it explains it.
