Harlan Daily's John Henson's Region Teams

Featured Replies

The coaches had more than three guards on their first team so I figured I could do so as well.:D My teams include an entire roster, both starting and subs. Simpson would be included on mine.

I enjoyed watching Simpson and Cumberland in the regional tourney.

I was very impressed with the Cumberland kids and how well they played, especially against South Laurel. The Skins are very disciplined, handle the ball well, and are very well coached. I have them ranked right there with Corbin at the top of the 13th next season.

So, who is on your team?

Thanks for backing me up Mathematican. It is nice to know some people are there to provide support.

I believe Simpson should be on anybody's top 20 players in the 13th Region list (coaches or sportwriters). Where he fits on the list opinions may vary, but he should definitely be in the top 20. This kid was the leading scorer on a top 4 Region team that won the 13th Region All A Championship and almost knocked a South Laurel team that did not lose a Region game in 2 consecutive years out of the Regional tournament in the semifinals. He averaged 17 points a game in 2 All A State games and had to be considered very seriously for all tournament team down there, and would probably have surely made it if Cumberland had advanced to the Semifinals. He was one of the best shooters and also one of the best on ball defenders in the Region, a key element in Cumberland's #1 defense in the 13th Region, and a 3 year starter for the Redskins.

Does Cumberland deserve to have three players in the top twenty players in the region then?

It was a close call. I went with Leisge instead due to his strong performance in the regional tournament. Simpson and Hogue would have both been in the top 25.

I think that both Desmond Johnson and Brock Leisge should be ahead of Simpson on the list.

If you think Simpson should be on the list, who should you take off? It would be difficult to take anyone off, only to add Simpson.

IMO Yes
