Does anyone know if the 14th Region has named its coach and player of the year, and if so who they are?

Coach of the Year went to Kyle Lively of Powell co. This is two years in a row that he has achieved this award. Congrats to Coach Lively on this accomplishment. I believe player of the year honors were given to Hazards' Justin Hicks, is this back-to-back season's as well for POY?

Congrats to Lively. He is a fine man and a fine coach. I wish all the best to that good fella. I hope he makes it to the big show, I hope to be there with him.

There is something to be said about Coach Lively. He has coached 2 programs and took both to the regional tourny. Thats 2 different teams in back to back years. He is an awesome coach who can relate to the players. He loves basketball with a passion and it shows. His players respond well to him, and I wouldn't be suprised if he wins a regional title in the next few years.

I have not heard who has gotten this honor,is this facts or who u want to have it,I really think BC Coach Steve Banks and Coach Stepp of JBS should be given a good look,Banks has taken a team with a 4 and 23 record and made them a good solid team,and just look at Stepp he has taken JBS to RUPP,and I do agree Coach Lively is a quality young Coach and would be deserving of this also,but hey when ya look at it he maybe should be in Rupp playing this YEAR,with all those seniors just my thinking....Congrats to who-ever gets it,it will be so well deserved.....And Player of Year ,my thinking is they are only one choice "Justin Hicks" ,he is by far the best we have in 14th,so would be so surprised if he didnt get it.......

Then maybe you should stop thinking. Coach Lively did a better coaching job this year at Powell than he did last year at Jackson City. Yes, he had a lot of seniors, but at the start of the season, nobody gave them a shot to even be in the regional tournament, not to mention win it.

 

I agree that Coach Banks and Coach Stepp had good years, but they may have also had the 2 most talented teams in the region.

I am pretty sure that Cody gilbert of Wolf Co. was player of the year last year

Gilbert was senior poy last year, Hicks was coachs association poy.

The 14th region gives one award to senior poy only.

Didnt coach Danny Wright from Lee County recieve 14th Region Coach of The Year last year?

Glad to hear that Coach Lively was the selection. Hope it is true. The arrogance displayed by some would make them be at the bottom of the list IMO. Coach Lively has the athletic skills, but more importantly he has the people skills to be successful in life and coaching.

Coach Lively would be an asset to any program in the state. Kids relate to him, fans like him and boosters support him. He done a wonderful job with a group of dedicated kids that won only 6 or 7 games last year. Congrats to Kyle and I think it is just a matter of time before he establishes himself as one of eastern Kentucky's best coaches and directs the Pirates at Rupp in March. Keep the faith Brother.

The senior regions player of the year allstar game will be played at Transi Saturday about 4 pm
