The 1984 NBA Draft saw Akeem, Sam Bowie and MJ go 1, 2, and 3.  131st (15th pick of round 6), the NJ Nets selected Oscar Schmidt, from Brazil.  He didn't sign a contract with the Nets and never played a game in the NBA.   He opted to dedicate his time and effort playing for the Brazilian National Team, and he became an International Basketball legend.

RIP to one of the finest basketball players the world ever saw.

This guy was one of the best to ever do it, regardless of where he played. I watched him wear out everyone including the US. He'd give buckets to everyone he played and seemed unguardable.

For those that don't know...
