Coach Brockman has stepped down after nine seasons at the helm.  He should be credited with revitalizing a struggling program with a few district and All A Region Championships.

I want everyone to know that after much prayer and discussion with my family, I have decided to step down as the Head Coach at Metcalfe County to spend more time with my family. Over my 9 years as the head coach I have won 111 games (2nd most in school history behind Coach McMurtrey), we have won two district championships 2021 (first since 2001) and 2023, as well as a 4th region All A Championship 2020, we were All-A runner up in 2021, 2022 and 2026. During my 9 seasons as Head Coach at Metcalfe County, we made the regional tournament four times. I want to first thank my wife and family for their unwavering support and time they have given to the program. I also want to thank the administration at Metcalfe County that I’ve had over the 9 years, Dr. Lile, Mrs. Kelly Bell, Mr. Graham, Mr. Eaton, Mr. Hurt, Coach Distefano, Coach Shirley and Coach Allen for their support over the years. I want to thank all the assistant coaches and their family for their time and dedication to the program, Coach Reed, Coach Zurmehly, Coach Landrum, Coach Hadley and Coach Shirley. Thanks to all the parents and players who have made the program successful over the last few years. Thanks to all the Hornet fans, we have some of the greatest high school basketball fans. Thanks to all the community members who have supported me throughout the years. There have been other coaching opportunities arise in the past, but I always chose to stay at Metcalfe because I was proud of the program we had built and turned around.
