A West Virginia native and legendary college coach, at age 89 has passed away! Coach Holtz is the only coach to lead 6 different teams to bowl games. Won a national championship in 89 at Notre Dame as they defeated West Virginia in the Fiesta Bowl. He was also the coach of the Catholic's vs Convicts game Notre Dame against Miami.

He was a staple on College Game Day several years ago.  Prayers for the Holtz family.

Also guided South Carolina to back to back Outback Bowl wins over Ohio State in 2000 and 2001.

Will always remember the times he was at South Carolina and turning that program around. 2001 vs Florida, the Gamecocks hosted College Gameday and can remember that crowd being insane. Heck of a career not just at SC but Notre Dame, Arkansas and also NC State. Praying for his family, God speed Coach!
