7th Region: Week 9

Featured Replies

? Headlines ?

The schedule was thin last week, due to the numerous cancellations and postponements related to the winter storm blanketing the state.

? ☘️ | One of the region's biggest developments last week was the on-court return of Trinity star Jayden Johnson. The table was set, as the state's top rated senior prospect’s season debut was conveniently slated against arch-rival St. Xavier, who also happened to be the last team he faced in a T uniform last season before transferring to Wasatch Academy in Utah.

Johnson didn't disappoint, scoring a team high 20, but X’s Jeremiah Jackson stole the spotlight with a game high 28, 24 of which came in the first half.

The X-Men led wire to wire before settling on a nineteen point margin of victory.

Josh Lindsay continues to give NBA Jam vibes with another of this season's best in-game dunks.

?? ☘️ | If Johnson is going to rejuvenate the Shamrocks, it isn't happening overnight. Trinity followed up the loss to X with another double digit setback, this one to CAL. Jayden Washington and Boogie Cook combined for 43 points and the Centurions shot 71% inside the arc. Cook is starting to heat up, averaging nearly 20 ppg and shooting 69% from the floor over his last four. CAL and Trinity are moving in opposite directions, with the former winning nine of its last ten and the latter losing five of its last six.

X | The Tigers wrapped up a successful week with a commanding 26 point win over Woodford County, who had just upset state #1 Madison Central the night before. Jeremiah Jackson, Josh Lindsay, Chief Cameron, and Jordan Jackson are all capable of lighting up the opposition on a given night. It was Chief Cameron’s turn against Wofo, with a game high 20 points. X’s options, which also include Connor Klein (105 career 3s/40% career shooter behind the arc), are as abundant and versatile as any team in the state.
