Weekly Notes:

Since they're loss to Wolfe County back on January 16th, The Powell County Pirates have went on a 3 game win streak, defeating Harlan County, Lewis County and Lee County.

Knott County Central picked up two more district wins to improve to 5-0 in district play. 

Since they're loss to Breathitt County in the 14th Region All "A" classic, The Hazard Bulldogs have won 4 straight, two of which were against district opponents. Hazard improves to 5-0 in district play.

Breathitt County has dropped 3 of they're last 4 games since winning the 14th Region All "A" Classic, one of which was to Martin County in the KHSAA All "A" Classic Tournament at the Sportscenter in Owensboro.

Perry County Central has now won 6 of they're last 8 games, after starting the season 4-6.

Wolfe County has dropped two straight since they're 69-66 thrilling win over Powell County. Losses came to Perry County Central and Elliott County.

Cougars of Letcher County Central won two of three games last week. Magoffin County 64-59, Cordia 65-15. Loss came to Hazard 87-64.

The 54th District is not a blind draw anymore. They voted to change that about 3 years ago. Unless something has changed lately that I’m unaware of. 

Listed as No under Seed on KHSAA. It was updated back in 2023.

I believe 3 years ago Buckhorn finally voted to seed and that put the vote at 3-1 for seeding their district tournament. It had been tied for decades, maybe always,  at 2-2 to not seed and instead have a blind draw. I’m not sure which school is the lone holdout.
