A buzzer beater usually concludes a terrific game, and this was no exception.  Cooper played a terrific game.  Philpot and Knuckles were nails tough and Ryker Campbell provided a huge lift off the bench.  Cooper made 8 3s in the first half and led throughout the game, including 50-45 after 3.

Finn Louden led Conner - scoring and playmaking.  It was an uphill slog for the Cougars.  As hard as they played, Cooper always seemed to have an answer.  The Cougars kept grinding.

The last 12.4 will live in Conner lore.  Logan Back’s hustle to retrieve the ball, his decision in the moment to find the best shooter, and Bushman’s composure to shoot the ball rather than panic and chuck it, all led to the game winner.

Beyond this game, the 33rd District is in great hands with coaches like Nate Browning and Justin Holthaus.  Both teams were very well coached.  Connected, disciplined, well-schemed, with kids stepping up to make plays. It was clear how much the players from both teams wanted to represent the name on the front of their uniforms.

A great high school game.
