Walton-Verona 40 St.Henry 10

Featured Replies

Final. Walton went up 40 to 3 early in the 4th to get the running clock. Both teams will make the playoffs, with Walton the 3 seed and St. Henry the 4 seed. Which is a great accomplishment in their first year playing varsity.

Congrats to both teams on making the playoffs and Walton on the win.

Walton-Verona held St. Henry to 106 total yards. While WV had 430 yards of offense in this one. WV was Led by sophomore running back Drew Lynn who ran for 180 yards and 2 touchdowns. Also senior Wide Receiver Michael Oldfield had 6 catches for 128 yards and 2 touchdowns. WV had 3 muffed punts in this game, that St. Henry recovered that allowed the game to take a little longer to get to the running clock.

Michael Oldfield who was WV best returning player this season and was one of the better WRs in the state in 2A last year. Missed the first 6 games of the season this year due to an injury he suffered back in April and wasn’t sure if he would make it back with the recovery time being 6 to 9 months. He returned two weeks ago and scored a 60 yard touchdown on his first play back. He has over 300 yards receiving and 4 touchdowns in the 3 games he has now played this year. His return has really helped the WV offense, who have put up over 1100 yards of offense in the last 3 games.
