Meade County and North Hardin head into the second game of the season with identical 0-1 records. Meade County fell to South Oldham 26-0 and North Hardin came up short against Lexington Christain Academy, 41-21.

This has the makings of a great matchup. Over the last several weeks, North Hardin has had 2 players transfer to Meade County, including QB Durelle Loggins, who threw for 1433 yards last season for the Trojans. An added layer to this game is the fact that Josiah Hope, Louisville commit from North Hardin, has been suspended for the first two games of this season due to an altercation in a game late last season.

All of these factors lead one to believe that this game could get chippy real quick unless the referees reign the players in early in this matchup.

Meade County was without QB Durelle Loggins against South Oldham and were relegated to a run game that produced less than 100 yards of total offense, a majority of those yards coming on the ground. I know that the Greenwave faithful are hoping that he gets cleared by the KHSAA this week for this huge matchup.

This will be the game of the week in Hardin County and one that I will be updating Friday night.

Who wins this matchup?

My Prediction:

North Hardin 36

Meade County 21

Central Hardin and Etown should be a great game on Friday night as well! Some good games in Hardin County this week!

I was told by a reliable source that Durelle Loggins request for eligibility to play this season with the Meade County GreeneWave was denied by the KHSAA. Ther is currently an appeal that has been filed. If this is true, he will be required to sit out his entire senior season.

Pretty bad football in the county again this season!

I don’t know how we can say that 1 week into the season. Central with a new coach, NH losing to a really good LCA team and JH went 9-3 last year despite losing to Hancock week 1. Lots of football still to be played.

Puts it all into perspective when you go watch games out of the Hardin County are. I was at Bowling Green high school last Saturday. I saw what good coaching and talent does for teams Like Boyle County and Owensboro Catholic. I also will be at Trinity HS when they play Carmel Indiana in a couple of weeks. Its just a different level of play. There isn't a Hardin County team that is a top 10 team in any KHSAA classification for 2025.

North Hardin receives first to start the game.

Scoreboard is not operational. Should be interesting
