The 2025 Clark’s Pump-N-Shop Track & Field State Championships presented by UK HealthCare opened with Class 1A competition on Thursday at the University of Kentucky Outdoor Track & Field Facility in Lexington.

The Clark’s Pump-N-Shop Track & Field State Championships will continue with the Class 2A meet on Friday, scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. ET.

?? On a picture perfect day for Track & Field, a tale of two meets. It was a real treat to watch and follow online. Congratulations to all who represented their schools in Lexington.

Girls: Lexington Christian took the team lead for good after taking 1st and 3rd in the 100. Bishop Brossart gamely gave chase, cutting the lead to seven with a mid-meet 2nd and 6th in the Long Jump. The Lady Eagles and the Lady 'Stangs both have star power and depth; LCA just had a bit more today.  LCA completes a running "Triple Crown" in Cross Country, Indoor Track, and Outdoor Track for '24-'25.

Boys: Louisville Collegiate led for much of the day, but boy was it close. Caldwell County briefly held the lead mid-meet with Beechwood, Paris, Bethlehem, and Williamsburg in hot pursuit. Williamsburg held a one point lead heading into the final event, the 4×400 Relay. The Titans iced their title by running 1A's fastest 4x4 of the year.

⏱️ Four Class records fell today, some amongst the oldest on the books. 

200m Dash: 21.62 | Charlie Ford (Newport Central Catholic) shaved 0.05 seconds from Isiah Pantiere's (University Heights) 2019 mark.

110m Hurdles: 14.32 | Julien Veliquette (Louisville Collegiate) snuck beneath the 14.40 record held by Jay Sprague of Bellevue since 1979.

1600m Run: 4:59.88 | Lily Parke (Beechwood JR) became the first sub 5:00 1A girl at state. The previous mark of 5:02.25 was set by St. Henry's Maureen Egan in 1993. 

800m Run: 2:15.96 | Parke knocked another St. Henry all-time great from No. 1 - Mary Dwyer's 2:16.70 from 1987.
