Clinton County equals their school record win total of 30, but more importantly, they advance to the region finals for the first time in 62 years. 
 

The Bulldogs fell behind early 13-4, as the threes were falling for Barren County, much as they did against Central. Unlike that game, Clinton County responded quickly, reeling off 13 points in a row to take a lead they’d never relinquish. Barren kept it close enough most of the night, but could never even get back to a tie. 

Great Season for Clinton County!  They are a very good team!

In order to beat BG in the Finals they have to:

1. Take care of the ball and not get rattled by BGs pressure.  They did a good job of this against Barren, but BG is different.

2. Make Free Throws.  I think I heard most of their players last night shooting in the 50-60% range.  Need a better effort on Wednesday than that percentage.

3.  Make most of their 3s.  As DFire said before they only took around 135 before this Barren County game, so they don't take a ton usually.  So when you do, you need to make the most of them.

4.  Limit BG runs and use your timeouts wisely to stem momentum/BG runs.

Going to be a good game!

#1 is the biggest one.  I feel that while Clinton County didn't turn over much against Barren's pressure, there was enough close to turning over that I feel they'll have some struggles with Bowling Green's press, as everyone does.  Clinton County has to get it into the halfcourt game, where they can utilize their inside presence and size.  

They'll need to stay out of foul trouble - Cannon Young is a load but he's also a bull.  I was pleasantly surprised last night that when Decker clearly flopped trying to take a charge that the officials saw through it and gave it a block, but Young is going to bang around down low, and I imagine some guys are going to fall down (both real and "real").  They need their size on the floor to protect the rim on defense and score the ball on offense. 

They will also need Bowling Green's assistance in not making shots.  I didn't see stats from the game last night, but I believe Barren made at least six threes, may have been as many as eight.  Now, they missed plenty, but they still had some open looks that they knocked down.  The Trojans are not a good team from three, but Bowling Green very much is.  I expect Clinton County will zone the Purples, and I imagine there will be quite a few drives and then kick out for three, which is what the zone gives up.  Bowling Green shoots 46.4% as a team from three, a very, very good clip.  Clinton County can't afford to give up 7-9 threes to this team.
