Week 12 is now over. There weren’t many games that were played due to the snow, so there aren't a lot of shake ups in the rankings. Some of the lower teams played some of the higher teams, and the result was what was expected. I’m pretty sure the 15th still does the super region, so every team should be in the region tournament. The district tournament will just depend on what the seeding looks like for the tournament. Here is your final rankings and a district tournament preview.

57th:
This should be the most competitive district in the 15th. Johnson will walk into the district finals with Magoffin County as their first game. Martin and Paintsville should be a battle. Martin County won the first two matchups, but Paintsville won the last. Johnson Central will likely await the winner, where they finished the district schedule going 4-2.

58th:
The 58th opening round game will have Lawrence County vs Prestonsburg. Prestonsburg has one of the best players in the region in Braxton Keathley, but we will see if they can put together a game like they did when they knocked off Pikeville. The other side has Betsy Lane vs Floyd Central. This game should also be very competitive. Both games are tomorrow night, and the championship will be on Thursday.

59th:
The 59th is just a three man district. Shelby Valley and East Ride will take place tonight at 8:30. The winner of this game faces Pikeville. SV is the heavy favorite to advance on to the championship. SV and Pikeville will play on Wednesday at 8:30. I would think Pikeville would be the heavy favorite in this one as well.

60th:
The 60th is another three man district. The opening game will be Phelps vs Belfry. This should be a great game. They split the regular season matchup. The winner will play Pike County Central. PCC went 3-0 with the district on the year.

Week 12 Rankings:

1. Martin County (17-8): The Cardinals opened the week up with a 19 point win over Magoffin County. Parker Watts did what he does and put up 21 in the win. The 57th district tournament is going to be awesome. Martin opens up with Paintsville, a team they went 2-1 with in the regular season.

2. Pikeville (15-8): The Panthers of Pikeville went 1-0 on the week. They beat Floyd Central by 7. I’m pretty sure they are dealing with some injury trouble, so hopefully they get that squared away by the time the region rolls around. They will play the winner of Shelby Valley and East Ridge for the district championship.

3. Paintsville (18-7): The Tigers were off for the week due to weather. They finish up the regular season going 18-7, but 3-3 their last six games. They open up with Martin County in the district tournament. They dropped their first two against them by 17 and 3, but won their last one against them by 5.

4. Johnson Central (14-9): The Golden Eagles were also off this past week. They got extremely hot, but cooled off at the end of the week before last. Thankfully they were the 1 seed in the 57th district, so they got a tune up game with Magoffin County before playing the winner of Paintsville and Martin County.

5. Betsy Lane (17-9): The Bobcats were able to get them a game in as they played Magoffin County at home and won by 11. Betsy Lane will open up the district tournament with Floyd Central, tomorrow at 8.

6. Pike County Central (16-9): PCC was off this past week because of the weather. They will play the winner of Phelps and Belfry in the district championship which will take place the 27th at 7:30 at Phelps.

7. Lawrence County (19-9): The Bulldogs got to play Fairview on Tuesday before the weather came rolling in. They beat them by a final of 90-43. Lawrence opens up their district tournament with Prestonsburg at Betsy Lane tomorrow night at 6.

8. Shelby Valley (14-11): The Wildcats got a forfeit win over East Ridge due to weather. I’m not sure how or why it was a forfeit with the weather, but either or. They will open up their district tournament with East Ridge at home tonight, at 8:30.

9. Phelps (13-11): The Hornets went 1-0 on the week. They knocked off East Ridge by 24. This was a nice tuneup game for their showdown with Belfry tonight in the 60th district. This game will be at home for Phelps.

10. Floyd Central (9-17): The Jaguars dropped their only game of the week, but they did play Pikeville close for the whole game and only dropped the game by 7. Chris Spriggs led the way with 14 on the night. Floyd looks to build off of that game with Betsy Lane on the road Tuesday.

11. Prestonsburg (12-13): The Blackcats went 1-0 on the week with a win over Letcher County Central. Prestonsburg opens up the district tournament with Lawrence County tomorrow night at 6.

12. Belfry (8-17): The Pirates went 0-1 this week with a loss to Tolsia WV. They open up the district tournament with Phelps on the road tonight at 8.

13. Magoffin (6-20): Magoffin went 0-2 this week with losses to Martin County and Betsy Lane. They open up the district tournament with Johnson Central at home, tomorrow night at 6:30.

14. East Ridge (7-19): East Ridge went 0-2 this week with losses to Shelby Valley and Phelps. They start the district tournament with Shelby Valley on the road tonight at 8:30.
