Offenses are trying to "split" the defense. Sweep to one side. Counter Trey to the other. Coach Neal Brown calls it "New Age Option."

So... which is better... leave the best player unblocked and read him or leave the WORST player unblocked and dare him to make the play?

 

 

I would say worse player because that player is probably the least mobile or slow so they aren't going to be in the play unless run right at them.

    Best, if he is the best you might not be able to block him anyway, also the best is probaly the most fundmental sound so you can get a good read on him and the defense, non fundmental D can give offense some trouble. Hard to prepare.
