14th Region: Week 10

Featured Replies

Hazard continued to be dominate against region opponents, the Bulldogs defeated Knott County Central for the second time this season 57-38 which was the same exact score as the earlier season game against the Patriots to push their region standing at an astonishing 14-0 against region opponents with only two of them being under 10 points.

Breathitt County split four games last week, defeating both Floyd Central and Rowan County but falling to Cabell Midland WV and Pike County Central. The two wins ran they're win streak to 6 straight before suffering the two losses. Breathitt County doesn't have an easy remaining schedule but they have earned the right to the 55th district championship game and the 14th region tournament.

Trayten Woods continues to lead the Commodores of Perry County Central. The senior has scored 431 points this season and is averaging 18.7 points a game for the Commodores. He led the Commodores in all three games last week with 23 in the loss to Bell County and 15 and 21 in the wins over Buckhorn and Letcher County Central.

The Patriots picked up three big wins last week with two of them being district wins but those wins would be short lived as the Patriots would fall to the Hazard Bulldogs once again and what's more ironically? It happened to be the same exact score as the earlier season game, 57-38.

Jenkins has reached a goal they haven't in a very long time, if ever, they have won 20 games in a season and are currently second in the district standings behind Knott County Central. Jenkins is also looking to punch they're ticket to the regional tournament for the first time in a long time.

54th district does not have a Blind Draw anymore. They started seeding their Doctor T last year. All four districts in the 14th region now seed.

I did not know that. I thought they still done the blind draw. Really surprising that Buckhorn and Leslie would agree to do the seeding.

I have a typo in that post. Auto Correct made “district” into “Doctor T”. How it came up with that I have no idea, lol.

Buckhorn’s coach at the time (2023) voted for it at the district tournament meeting to break the 2-2 tie. Now to change it back it will take a 3-1 vote, which isn’t likely.
