5th Region: Week 9

Featured Replies

Last week the 5th Region was highlighted by several district games. The biggest being #2 Green County versus #3 Larue County. The game was back and forth for about 3 quarters but then Green took the lead and never looked back winning by 14. That made Friday night’s game between Larue County and Caverna a must win for Larue County if they were going to have a shot at the #1 seed for the 18th district. Caverna routed the Hawks, winning by 22 points. That was certainly a statement win for the Colonels.

In other district games, Adair County stayed undefeated in district play beating Campbellsville. North Hardin dominated Elizabethtown, winning by 40. Taylor County secured the #2 seed in the 20th district defeating Marion County and Campbellsville and Bardstown defeated Bethlehem by 16 in the 19th district.

*-Denotes seed is clinched.

Adair has won 9 straight and look to be starting to click for the stretch run just as they did last year. Loy has been incredible recently. Hes averaging 25 ppg in his last 5 games and is shooting 60% from the field as a point guard, while also leading the state in assists.
