First and foremost, a huge shoutout to the Bishop Brossart Mustangs for earning their spot as representatives of the 10th region at the All-A state! They’re currently boasting an impressive 9-6 record and holding down the 4th position in the 10th region RPI. Talk about a turnaround! Last season was a tough one for the Mustangs, finishing with a rough 3-26 record, which included a staggering 24-game losing streak after a promising 3-2 start. It’s incredible to see the team bounce back like this, and much of that success can be credited to their head coach, Ben Franzen. If he doesn't snag the 10th region Coach of the Year title after leading such a remarkable revival, then something's definitely off! The Mustangs are proving that hard work and determination can transform a struggling team into a competitive force, and we can’t wait to see what they’ll achieve at the state level!

This week, I thought I'd shake things up a bit with my write-ups and give you my take on how each district in the 10th region might wrap up and what the regional tournament could look like. I’ve been crunching the numbers and keeping an eye on the teams, and I’m excited to share my predictions. Buckle up, because it’s going to be an interesting ride as we gear up for some thrilling matchups ahead!

37th District: The Camels of Campbell County are looking to reign supreme once again, chasing what will be their 11th or 12th consecutive title (I've lost count)—pretty impressive! While Bishop Brossart will continue to make waves this season, I see Scott pulling off the win in their regular season matchup. But don’t count Brossart out; I think they’ll get their revenge when it matters most in the district tournament and they will end up as the other regional representative. This puts Calvary Christian in 4th place, losing to the Camels in the semis. 

38th District: This tournament championship will be an exciting showdown between Nicholas County and Pendleton County. Although Pendleton just pulled off a win against Nicholas last week, I have a feeling Nicholas will rise to the occasion and snag the district title when it counts. In the early rounds, Robertson faces a tough loss to Pendleton, while Nicholas takes down Harrison in that intense 2 vs 3 matchup. Fans are in for a thrilling tournament!

39th District: Mason County is set to shine bright again, easily taking down St. Patrick to secure their spot in the championship. Augusta won't have much trouble with Bracken County in the 2 vs 3 matchup, making it a smooth ride for them. Ultimately, all signs point to a showdown between Mason County and Augusta, where Mason will emerge victorious, reinforcing their status as the class of the district.

40th District: GRC really shines as they dominate Paris in the first round and end up taking the district crown. The real nail-biter is the match between Montgomery County and Bourbon County. Bourbon comes in with the better record, but Montgomery will be on a roll thanks to Cayden Reed’s impressive late-season performances. Fans are in for a treat as Montgomery pulls off a thrilling victory, proving that momentum can make all the difference in tournament play!
