16thBBall Fan Posted January 10 Author Posted January 10 Cincinnati Bengals wideout Ja'Marr Chase and Minnesota Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson were the only unanimous First Team selections, with Jefferson a unanimous pick for the second year in a row. Other notable selections included rookie Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers beating out San Francisco 49ers star George Kittle as the First Team tight end; Myles Garrett and Trey Hendrickson taking the First Team edge rusher slots while T.J. Watt was joined on the Second Team by Nik Bonitto and Andrew Van Ginkel, who were tied in the voting; and Defensive Player of the Year favorite Patrick Surtain II securing a First Team slot. The Ravens, Eagles and Detroit Lions tied for the most All-Pro selections with six. The Ravens and Lions tied for the most first-team selections with four each. Thirteen of the 14 playoff teams had at least one All-Pro player, with the Los Angeles Rams being the lone one missing.
bugatti Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Noteworthy for the MVP race is that Lamar captured the first team All-Pro spot. The last time a QB won MVP but was not first first-team All-Pro was Steve McNair in 2003. However, that season it was a co-MVP situation with Peyton Manning, who was 1st team All-Pro. You have to go back to '87 when Elway was named MVP, but Montana was 1st team All-Pro. In short, if Allen were to win (he is still the betting favorite, but the gap has closed), he would be bucking a trend. 1
