Ashland comes into this game with a 9-1 regular season record and the champion of 4A district 6. This week they were able to pick up a nice win on the road against Simon Kenton in which they produced their second best rushing totals this season with 328 yards on the ground, behind when they racked up over 400 against Greenup. Turnovers were a huge part of last night's victory as Ashland would capitalize on multiple Simon Kenton turnovers early after the Pioneers took a 7-6 lead over the Tomcats. Braxton Jennings would once again be highly productive with 162 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns on 16 attempts and 52 yards receiving and a touchdown on 6 receptions. Last season Ashland opened up the playoffs against Harrison County and would win 56-14. 

Harrison County comes in as the 4 seed in 4A District 5 and looks to try to to come in and pull a major upset over a 4A team in Ashland that is ranked in the top 5. Karsyn Sumpter leads the rushing attack and lately he has started to produce some solid numbers. Although Harrison County comes in with a record of 2-8, this is not a Harrison County team that is to be overlooked. Ashland will have home field advantage for this game and, with a win, will have home field advantage for round 2 as well.
