College Football Recap-Week 3 

 

I’m still at a loss of words for what I witnessed this weekend.   

 

Still processing.  

 

I’m not sure if I owe UK fans an apology or not from what I said last week about it being basketball season in Lexington.  

 

I’ll apologize anyways.  

 

My bad UK fans.  

 

I was wrong.  

 

Basketball season may be back on hold for now after the spirited game that UK had a chance to win or take the lead near the end of the game.  

 

Georgia won 13-12 against UK in a game dominated by defense. 

 

Now, don’t get me wrong. I expected Georgia to win but I expected Georgia to cover the spread as well.  

 

This spread went from -24.5 points favoring UGA to -21.5 favoring by kickoff on Saturday.  

 

To say I was flabbergasted by this 3 point swing is an understatement.  

 

I’m not going to act like I expected Georgia to win 45-6 because I didn’t.  

 

Georgia always beats Kentucky 33-7 or something like that.  

 

I mean, this is the #1 team in the nation.  

 

Best team in the mighty mighty SEC.  

 

None of that mattered as Georgia won the game but not how we expected them to. 

 

I’m not sure what this says about either team.  

 

At the same time this is not the time for UK fans to give up on UK football so again, I apologize.  

 

I don’t know what your season holds so if they can manage to bring this type of energy to the rest of their games then who knows how this season plays out for the UK Wildcat football team.  

 

We shall see.  

 

Quinn Ewers was injured yesterday during the Texas game and that has paved the way for Arch Manning to get the playing time I have patiently been waiting on.  

 

Texas didn’t miss a beat when Arch Manning came into the game.  

 

Manning accounted for 5 total touchdowns going 9-12 for 233 yards and 4 touchdowns and he ran for 53 total yards but also had a 67 yard TD rush which is the longest rush by a QB since the days of Vince Young.  

 

How long Ewers is out remains to be seen.  In the meanwhile it is now time for us to get to know Arch Manning a little better.  

 

The Tennessee Volunteers put up 71 points on Kent State and continue to look like the offensive juggernaut that could terrorize the SEC.  

 

Alabama annihilated Wisconsin and are looking like their old dominant self after a slow start against South Florida last week.  

 

Ole Miss won in dominating fashion once again as well as they defeated Wake Forest 40-6 to remain undefeated. 

 

Ole Miss has the easiest schedule amongst the top teams in the SEC.  They do play Oklahoma and Georgia along with South Carolina but they manage to avoid Texas, Alabama and Tennessee in a year where those three teams look to be the class of the SEC.  

 

I want to say Ole Miss is also in that top class of the SEC as well.  I feel like they are good enough to be in that class.  

 

Seeing is believing.  

 

Another week in the books and another week of Florida State and Florida embarrassing their fans and home fields and the Miami Hurricanes still being the most dominant team in Florida.  Shameful.  

 

It is good to see the Hurrricanes taking care of business like they are supposed to.  

 

With Quinn Ewers now out Cam Ward will get some extra Heisman hype as he is now the favorite.  

 

Carson Beck looked lackluster against UK and these are the updated Heisman odds:

If memory serves me correctly, didn't UGA have a hiccup early in the season last year at Mizz?  I think UGA was doing this week, what UK did last week.  Look past USC to the UGA game and UGA was looking past UK to the Bama game.  Just my opinion.

Definitely makes sense as I know I expected to see a much better looking Georgia team last Saturday.
