Jumper_Dad Posted August 12, 2024 Posted August 12, 2024 I know we all despise preseason polls, but just for fun here is the AP Top 25. With 12 teams qualifying for this seasons CFP, how many of the pre-season Top 12 make this year's playoffs?
Jumper_Dad Posted August 12, 2024 Author Posted August 12, 2024 There are 5 auto qualifiers, the 5 highest ranked conference champs. We would assume that would include the ACC, BIG 10, BIG XII and SEC champs plus highest ranked team from out of those conferences.
Jumper_Dad Posted August 12, 2024 Author Posted August 12, 2024 Which teams are the most likely to fall out of the top 12 by the end of the year and who has the best chance to jump up into the top 12? 2

That’s the biggest question about who will replace teams falling out of it. For preseason I believe that the top 12 shown above looks pretty solid. Of those teams to fall out, I would go with Florida State and Notre Dame as the most likely, maybe Utah. I believe that Ole Miss has a chance to do some big things potentially this season. Either way it will be interesting seeing how it all shakes out.

They actually have a pretty solid football program. Kyle Whittingham has done them a lot of good.
hrcarrier Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 Well, my pick of Florida State being out of it sounds good after today. 1

Jumper_Dad Posted September 3, 2024 Author Posted September 3, 2024 Week 2 Bracketology. This is pretty close to how I'd seed it as of today.

Even with being early on, back to back losses to Georgia Tech and Boston College doesn’t scream out to me that the team to do this will make the playoff, regardless of who the team is. 1

Well, looking like I’m 2/2 with Northern Illinois winning. I don’t think anyone saw that coming though.
