Tough loss for the Lady Rams, was good to play a good team leading into the all A State tournament on Wednesday of next week. By the way, WLGC announced that they will be broadcasting the Raceland Lady Rams in the all A state tourney. I believe it is Wednesday at 1:30pm vs. Sommerset at Richmond. (EKU).

Lady Rams started hot. Russell scored easy baskets against Raceland's press. Lady Rams seemed to pass the ball around too much. Too many turnovers.

Too many turnovers really hurt the Lady Rams. Good win for Russell.

From the play by play on the radio broadcast (who did a very good job by the way) that was the case. Russell opened the 2nd half on a 6-0 run and Raceland had some unforced turnovers that hurt them. This game however shows that Raceland can play with Russell and contend for the 16th region overall title. I just hope that these two do not draw each other in the first round of the district tourney. Imo they are the best in the 63rd. district and I would like to see both of them advance to the regional.

No the 63rd district is not seeded. Raceland and Lewis Co have voted against seeding the district tournament.
