The Polar Bears finished with a 6-5 record last season and went 2-3 in district play (2A, District 5). They lost to Breathitt County 46-26 in the state playoffs. Their biggest loss of the season came against Carroll County, who defeated them 48-47 at home. This made a three-way tie for the 3-4-5 seeds between Bracken, Owen, and Walton-Verona.

Their biggest non-district game is on August 23 at Harrison County (4A).  Pendleton County was supposed to hold this game but backed out. Harrison played in a bowl game way down in Western Kentucky last year.  So, being neighboring counties, they agreed to play once since both needed a game this week.
