12th Region Top 10

Featured Replies

My top ten, as follows:

Please remember this is how they are playing now, not who I think will win the region championship.

1. Boyle County

2. Lincoln County

3. Southwestern

4. West Jessamine

5. Wayne County

6. McCreary Central

7. East Jessamine

8. Somerset

9. Pulaski County

10. Garrard County

Wow Somerset at 8? and Southwestern at 3?...I belive those maybe should be switched

Somerset did blow out Southwestern at home just a few weeks ago.

Guys, remember: This is not how they were playing in the past or who I think the better team is - this is basically an AP Poll. Southwestern beat Boyle and I have Boyle at #1..

Somerset lost at West and then a twenty-point win over Monticello and ten-point win over Danville just doesn't impress me enough to move them higher. I'm not saying that they aren't better than every team in the 12th, but this is what I think of them at this very moment. I think Lincoln will win the region, but Boyle is playing better than them right now. The game between Southwestern and Somerset was at Somerset and it was a night after their win over McCreary. Southwestern beat Somerset once this year, even though it was by one-point and at home. If I did it by overall, Somerset is only 10-9 with losses at home to 3-win Rockcastle and a ten-point loss at Barbourville.

Yes at in that one point win it was basically luck no matter how you look at it... buta win is a win and thats what matters..but also the night before Somerset played Casey at Casey so i dont believe that was a factor... Somerset has also had one of the toughest scheldules in the region and struggled early...But I just dont see how you have SW that high and Somerset that low...But everyone has their opinion and I just believe the Jumpers are playeing well enough right now to be higher than 8th for sure.

Somerset was 3-7 in their first ten. Four games at home, three in Daytona. That leaves three on the road that are in-state.

In the ten games, only three teams had a winning record. (Besides the Daytona teams, which I have no clue.)

The total record of the 7 in-state teams: 59-66.

You're right, they did struggle early, but it was far from one of the toughest schedules in the region. The teams they lost to were a combined 45-41. The teams they lost to at home were a combined 12-23.

Im somewhat agree...but the teams in Florida were very talented... There is no excuse for the loss to BBville and Rock..They also played Dunbar, lost to Lincoln by 3 at Lincoln with out their leading scorer. Russel isnt a bad team and almost beat SW the other night if it wasnt for a last second shot. I just dont see how you have Somerset that low with the teams you have above them. But like I said its your opinion, but i think it will be a very interesting 12th region tourny...will u be at the SW game tonight?

I think you can rank Lincoln Co and Boyle Co. Number 1 and 1A ,and it don't matter which one 1 and 1 A. You can rank the rest of region 2 ! The region is really close, way to close to rank. Thats my opinion and I am sticking to it.

Sure will be, Pride50. Somerset is a great team, and when they get on a roll again or other teams lose, they'll be right back up at the top of my board. Any team in the 12th can beat the other team on any given night, and that's what I love about this region.
