Morehead State University’s next head coach

Featured Replies

MSU will now be looking for another head coach to replace Preston Spradlin who took the James Madison job today.

The Eagles took off during the final four years of his tenure, winning at least 20 games in every season and making two NCAA Tournament appearances.

He led Morehead State to a 26-9 record this season, with the Eagles earning a 14 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Spradlin, a two-time OVC Coach of the Year, is considered a rising star in the coaching ranks at just 37 years old.

John Brannen. Former NKU and UC head coach. Played at Morehead before transferring to Marshall. Hearing he's interested in getting back on the sidelines.

Morehead has hired Jonathan Mattox as its next coach. Mattox was an assistant coach at Morehead for 9 seasons. The last two seasons he was an assistant coach at Murray State.
