Blue Colonels win big in their final home game of the season, despite missing big man Caden Miller who's out with broken fingers. Miller is expected back by the final round of the district tournament.

 

 

Covington Catholic was led in scoring by senior Brady Hussey with 18 points and sophomore Athens McGillis with 30 points.

McGillis is HOT right now. 32 points against Lloyd on Monday, and 30 points tonight.

Brady Hussey had 18 points tonight. That puts him 29 points away from joining the 1000 point club.

That doesn't sound good.  I guess the Colonels are lucky in that the post-season is spaced out over a month (which is beyond stupid, but that is for another discussion).

He's averaging 14.1 ppg right now, so he needs one game at average and one game at a point above average to hit it.

Aside from Caden, who already has joined the 1000 point club, Cash Harney's 209 as an 8th grader and 270 points as a freshman at Beechwood plus his 267 this season at Cov Cath has him currently sitting at 746 for his career. And Athens McGillis' 153 as a freshman and 389 this season has him at 542. Both seem more than likely to make their way to the 1000 point club at Cov Cath.
