Can anyone help enlighten me a little on the redistricting. I am a lil out of the loop on that. I know a lil about it but just wanted to get up to speed.

Here is a link to the new alignment for 2007 and 2008.

Any certain districts or regions you are wanting information on?

Watusi,

Am I reading the chart on the KHSAA site properly? Will the Regions change from 2007 to 2008? For example: Raceland's district will play D8 in 2007 and D7 in 2008. It is the same for all the districts. Is this correct?

Yes, you are reading them right.

Raceland is in District 5, as per the previous link. They will remain in District 5. But the regions will not be set. In other words Region 3 is not necessarily made up of D5 and D6 like in the past.

If you look at this link, you will see that in 2007 and 2008, D5 remains in Region 3, but one year they play D7 in the third round and the next year they play D8.

This means some teams will be in one region one year and in a totally different region the following year. Take Pikeville for example. They are in D8. In 2007, D8 is in Region 3 and in 2008, D8 is in Region 4.

Fun, huh?

Fun. Will this rotation continue over the years, or is this just a temp thing to get into the new alignment.

I wish we did this over the last 20 years maybe Raceland would not have to play the future state champ every year in the first two play off games.
