The Knights, Ohio's defending D1 basketball champs are off to a slow start (2-3), but coming off a 58-53 win Tuesday over Wilson Academy (GA). They began the season ranked in the Top 25 in the Buckeye State, but have slipped considerably since.

The Colonels (6-2), a consensus Top 10 team in the Bluegrass, look to bounce back from Sunday's 60-74 loss to nationally ranked La Lumiere (IN). 

From their MaxPreps team profile, Hoban appears to have some size, averaging 6'-2"+. Their center however, is massive - soph Samuel Greer, a tackle on the Knights football team is 6'-8"/302 lbs. Names to listen for tonight: Jonas Nichols (6'-3" SR, 18.0 pts, 7.7 rbs), John Johnson (6'-2" FR, 11.5, 5.0), Joseph Hardman (6'-3" SR, 8.0, 2.4), and Greer (7.6, 6.4).

This is, I believe, only the second meeting between the two schools on the hardwood. Cov Cath won their previous game 71-69 in Jan. 2001 during the "Elite 8 Showcase" at Kent State. 

Great story here on last year's Hoban championship, and Coach TK Griffith, who was coaching the Knights in 2001, will be on the bench leading his team tonight. The final link in the chain? He played on the Akron school's championship team 34 years ago.
