Top Regional Matchups (Wed 10/11)

Recommended Posts

I dropped the Top 50 in the Title because I will also showcase the Regional Championship games below which might not have a Top 50 ranked team involved.  There are 16 games on the docket tonight.  4 Regional Championship games to see who punches their ticket to State.  3 games will be with both teams in the Top 10 Maher Rankings.  A ton of great soccer around the state.  Whose going to "survive and advance"???

REGION 3 (CHAMPIONSHIP):  #15 DAVIESS CO vs #52 OHIO COUNTY, DC knocked off OC in the reg season 3-2

REGION 5 (CHAMPIONSHIP):  #7 ELIZABETHTOWN vs #9 BETHLEHEM, Etown beat Bethlehem in the reg season 2-0

REGION 6 (CHAMPIONSHIP):  #68 MERCY vs #83 BULLITT EAST, Mercy beat BE twice this year.... 2-1 in Districts, 1-0 in reg season

REGION 7 (CHAMPIONSHIP):  #3 SACRED HEART vs #6 ASSUMPTION, they tied 1-1 in the reg season

REGION 9 (SEMIFINAL):  #2 HIGHLANDS vs #4 NOTRE DAME, HHS won 4-1 in Lex Cath Invitational, tied 1-1 in reg season

REGION 9 (SEMIFINAL):  #14 DIXIE vs #32 COOPER, Dixie beat Cooper 2-0 in reg season

REGION 10 (SEMIFINAL):  #27 GRC vs #28 CAMPBELL COUNTY, The Camels won the reg season 1-0

REGION 11 (SEMIFINAL):  #1 LEX CATH vs #37 GREAT CROSSING, they Did Not Play this season yet

REGION 11 (SEMIFINAL):  #13 FREDERICK DOUGLAS vs #34 MADISON CENTRAL, not only have not they not played year....it looks like they have NEVER played against each other

Once again anybody have any thoughts on the winners?

Good luck to everyone, going to be a great night of soccer on the Pitch!

According to an article in today's online Herald Leader, Frederick Douglass will be without the services of Maddie Merryweather in their 11th region semifinal game tonight against Madison Central.  I'm sure not having Merryweather will change the Douglass game plan because that is a significant loss to their offensive attack.

Is this a short term loss or long, FD might be able to get by MC without Maddie but they will need everyone for a potential final with Lex Cath.
