We have a full slate of games tonight to follow.  There are 34 games on the docket tonight.  I am going to showcase the 12 games that have BOTH teams ranked in the Top 50 in the latest Maher Rankings last week and what they did against each other this year if they played.

#6 ASSUMPTION vs #38 BALLARD, Did Not Play

#24 OLDHAM COUNTY vs #28 SIMON KENTON, OC won the regular season matchup 5-0

#10 SOUTH OLDHAM vs #43 WALTON VERONA, Did Not Play

REGION 9:

#2 HIGHLANDS vs #42 ST HENRY, Highlands won the regular season matchup 7-2

#4 NOTRE DAME vs #12 CONNER, Did Not Play

#31 BEECHWOOD vs #32 COOPER, Did Not Play

REGION 11:

#1 LEXINGTON CATHOLIC vs #40 MADISON SOUTHERN, Lex Cath won the regular season matchup 3-1

#10 LAFAYETTE vs #13 FREDERICK DOUGLAS, Lafayette won the regular season matchup 4-1

#35 HENRY CLAY vs #37 GREAT CROSSING, Did Not Play

 

Anybody see any potential upsets out of these?  Or will it be a clean sweep with the better ranked teams winning all of them?

Well, if #32 over #31 constitutes an upset, sign me up.  I think the Lady Jags will beat Beechwood.

In full disclosure, 1-0 Lady Jags is closer than I would have expected, but they march on to the Semis of the BlueBird & Panda Invitational.

Monday Night Recap

REGION 5:

The Town of Elizabeth drops the Town of Bards 3-0

The Little Town of Bethlehem repeats the same score from the reg season against Central Hardin 4-0

REGION 7:

Sacred Heart puts on a clinic by handling DuPont Manual pretty easily 5-1

Assumption pulls out late against Ballard 3-1, this one was just a 1-1 game late before Assumption threw 2 goals in to finish off any chance of an upset from Ballard

REGION 8:

Oldham County secures the win vs Simon Kenton 2-0

South Oldham rolled Walton Verona 5-0

REGION 9:

Highlands knocks off St Henry 5-0

Notre Dame takes care of Conner 3-0

Cooper puts one in literally in the first few seconds of the game and that was all that was needed to beat Beechwood 1-0

REGION 11:

Lex Cath rolls past Madison Southern 6-0

Frederick Douglas knocks off the first Top 10 team in Lafayette 2-1

Great Crossing survives a high scoring match with Henry Clay by winning 4-3
