The Birds flew into Ft Mitchell and took care of business last night getting 2 goals each half.  Laney Smith continuing to increase the Highlands career goal record game by game scoring 2 of the goals, Claire Cavacini trying to keep up with Laney's scoring pace getting a goal for herself and then to round it out Kate Fausz putting one in net.  Unfortunately for the Tigers of Beechwood just couldn't get anything offensively created Nat Hinegardner and Bailey Markus getting the clean sheet only having to save 4 shots all night.

Who impressed me the most in this game was Beechwood GK Brooke Fowee, she had to have multiple nice saves all night long or this could have been much more lopsided in the scorebook.  She registered 14 saves and she earned every one of them!  No wonder why prior to last night Beechwood only was averaging 1 goal given up a game....Great game Brooke!!!

I forgot to mention, up next the Birds jump in the Vengabus and go road tripping to Hopkinsville, KY for a doubleheader on Saturday versus a Region 1 opponent Murray High School and then in the afternoon Clarksville, TN

Safe travels for the team!

Beechwood heads to Holy Cross for a tough District game on Wednesday after a nice long weekend enjoying the Fireworks.

Brooke has been doing a great job particularly since she didn’t even play for Beechwood last year.  I’m glad she came back for her senior year.
