Site: John C. Combs Arena, Perry County Central

When: March 1-6  

1) Hazard (27-3): The Bulldogs, the hottest team in the 14th region and may even in the state has been on a tear this season. Ripping through opponents. Hazard comes into the regional tournament the odds on favorite and they’ve showed why they are the favorites all season. They come in at an astonishing 19-0 in region play. Since the middle of December, the Bulldogs have gone on a 24-1 run and are currently on a 9 game win streak. 
 

2) Perry County Central (18-14): The Commodores struggled earlier in the season but have gone on a 12-5 run since the beginning of the new year. Commodores seen they’re 5 game win streak get snapped when they fell to Hazard in the 54th district tournament championship. 
 

3) Breathitt County (15-9): The Bobcats have been a hit and most of the season but they are on a 3 game win streak and have won 7 of they’re final 9 games. 
 

4) Letcher County Central (21-10): The Cougars had been playing great all season but have dropped 4 of they’re final 6 games  3 of those 4 losses were against the 14th region top teams  

5) Knott County Central (13-17): Knott County Central struggled most of the season but came on strong towards the end of the season, winning 4 of they’re final 6 games.

6) Powell County (14-18): Powell County struggled most of the season but pulled out a huge victory by winning the 56th district tournament by knocking off the district favorite, Estill County. 
 

7) Estill County (21-12): The Engineer faithful had they’re hearts broke when they failed to 3 peat as 56th district champions. Engineers have won 7 of they’re final 10 games. 
 

? Wolfe County (14-15): Wolves are struggling as they have all season. They’ve lost 8 of they’re final 9 games.

56th - Powell County Pirates

53rd - Knott County Central Patriots

54th - Perry County Central Commodores

Tournament Bracket:

3/1 - 6 PM Powell County at Perry County Central

First meeting between the two teams this season. Do the Pirates have what it takes to stop the Commodores on they’re own home court?

3/1 - 8 PM Letcher County Central vs. Wolfe County. 
 

First meeting between the two this season. Can Wolfe pull out a huge win of will they’re season end in a loss?

 

3/2 - 6 PM Hazard vs. Estill County. 

Hazard didn’t have a problem with the Engineers just a few weeks ago when they derailed the Engineers 63-43. 
 

3/2 - 8 PM Breathitt County vs. Knott County Central. 
 

Can the Bobcats keep rolling or will Knott find a way to pull off an upset?

3/4 1:30 PM - Semi-Finals #1

3/4 4:30 PM - Semi-Finals #2

3/6 - 7 PM - Championship. 

Hazard, PCC or LCC wins region and my vote goes to Hazard  just too good not too.
