This was my first Big East game this season and it turned out into a blowout quickly. U. Conn (19-6, 8-6 conf) had no problem smacking Marquette (19-6, 11-3 conf) upside the head en route to the 87-72 win. Leading the winners with 20 points and 6 rebounds. was Jordan Hawkins (Gaithersburg, MD). He was 5 of 8 from behind the three-point line. For the Warriors, Tyler Kolek (Cumberland, RI) had 17 points to go with 4 assists.

Here are the standings in the Big East:

Xavier    11-2    .846    19-5    .792
Marquette    11-3    .786    19-6    .760
Providence    9-3    .750    17-6    .739
Creighton    9-3    .750    15-8    .652
Seton Hall    8-5    .615    15-9    .625
UConn    8-6    .571    19-6    .760
