2023 Estill County Engineers

What do the Engineers have to do to have another winning season again this coming year? 
 

Key Departures:

QB - Caleb Witt - 808 pass yards  

FB/RB - Jeremiah “Tank” Stephens - 687 rush yards. 

DL - Braeden Waddle - 168 total tackles  

Altogether Estill County loses 10. 
 

Key Returners:

RB - Caden Arvin - 1,300 rusher. 
WR - Ethan Henry

WR - Layden Rawlins 

DL - Jax Niece - 113 total tackles. 
 

Biggest question finding QB. I’m assuming Jax Niece or Levi Beckler. 
 

WK 1 (Aug 25) vs. Harrison County

 

Drafted district; Belfry, Lawrence County, Magoffin County, Morgan County, Powell County.

South Laurel will come to Estill.

QB spot will get the most attention as to who steps up and obtains that role but just as important to team success will be replacing a lot of key guys on that OL & DL.
The pair of Waddle and Niece at LB made for an extremely solid middle of the defense. Estill will miss Waddle. 
Name of the game is keep moving forward. 
Big off-season for the Engineers.

South Laurel is 9/15.

Not hearing anything official yet but this is what I’ve heard. Estill and Morgan aren’t playing each other even though same district. Not sure what’s up there.

Sep. 15 South Laurel

Bath County, Bourbon County, East Carter, West Carter. 
 

Belfry, Lawrence County, Magoffin County, Powell County.

With dates TBD. I’m assuming the remaining district games will be Sep 29-Oct 20 along with one of those dates being the bye week.

Belfry comes to Estill 10/13 so that leaves 9/29, 10/6, 10/20 for Bye, Magoffin and Powell. Both will be or should be away.

Here you go, ASB. Looks like Estill currently has 5 open weeks. You mentioned Bath County & East Carter initially, so I'm not sure if they are still two of the remaining teams to fill things out, and then as you stated, Magoffin County and Powell County are district competition to get added into the Sep/Oct portion of their schedule.
