The Mustangs try to bounce back from a bitter defeat at the hands of #5-ranked Central two weeks ago as they try to finish the season even at .500 for the first time in a long while.   In their way is a resurgent Nelson County squad that is on the winning side of the ledger for the first time in a while.

North won last year's matchup in a tight one, 14-12, in Bardstown.   The Mustangs are 2-0 all-time against the Cardinals.

Under second-year coach Jamie Brown, North has surged back into competitiveness with a strong defense and a capable passing game.   QB Jace Bullock ranks #10 in Class 4A, averaging 156 yards passing / game.   Linebacker Noah Leber ranks #7 in tackles, averaging 10.1 / game.  Tyler Vance is tied for third in the state with 10 sacks on the season, and Bryce Grady has 6 1/2 sacks.   (North Oldham, as a team, is third in the state with 23 sacks)   Liam Hutson leads the state with 8 INT, and he's returned 2 for touchdowns.    

Nelson County features strength in the trenches, and offensively, has followed that big, strong line to the tune of 272 yards rushing / game, good for 7th in the state.   Defensively, Trevor Beam has 5 INT for the class 3A Cardinals.
