8. Louisville Holy Cross at #6 Campbellsville 

9. Paintsville at #2 Raceland

10. Sayre vs. Paris

I believe this group can be divided into three sections:

• Pikeville and Raceland. Pikeville is the clear favorite but Raceland has shown enough to think they might be capable of winning a title.
• Newport Catholic and Hazard. Two teams with rich heritages that might count for something. NCC has been rolling but the schedule is weak. I'm anxious to see them against Beechwood next week. Hazard has been all over the map. Good wins, questionable loss to Breathitt and handled comfortably by Bardstown, odd performance against Sayre.
• The bottom half has had their moments but I don't believe anyone below Hazard is a legitimate threat to see the state finals, much less win.
