For the 2nd time this season, Highlands blanks the Tigers by a 3-0 score, this time eliminating the 35th Runner-Ups in the 9th Region Tourney.  Beechwood, like the other 3 teams that fell in defeat in the 9th last night, failed to find the back of the net even once in going down in defeat.  Highlands advance to play Ryle on Thursday night at CovCath, in the later game (8:00), in a game that we talked about in other threads that would be strength on strength.  It should prove to be a GREAT game, just like the one that precedes it.

Beechwood has much to be proud of as the 2022 season ends for them, and they put a bow on the year with a 10-10-1 mark, having scored 42 goals while allowing 43.  Two wins over district rival Holy Cross, and what proved to be a great result with a 1-0 win over Grant County, will be great memories for the young men that sadly ended their careers last night.  Congrats to Coach Young and the Tigers on a very solid season!

I thought that was an interesting stat call out and more so interesting because the 4 girl games in the first round of Region 9 was the same way, all 4 losers failed to score even just 1 goal.  We had 8 total games in the 9th Region (Boys & Girls) with the winners all posting shutouts....Very Interesting.
