Bellevue 58 Dayton 57

Senior Donnie Carelock of the Tigers hits a 3 point shot from deep in the corner with 3.8 on the clock to pull out the win at Dayton's gymnasium. Dayton had just hit two crucial foul shots to go up by two with 10 seconds on the clock. Very scrappy game, well officiated. Three-man crew by the way. First one we had seen all year.

Congrats to the Tigers on the big win on the 3 bomb. I am sure Coach Vories can breathe a sigh of relief after beating the crosstown rival. I am thinking maybe the style of play typically between the Tigers and Greendevils may have convinced them to go with a 3 man crew. It usually gets pretty physical. Nice victory and tough defeat for Dilts and his boys as they are trying to turn things around down there but seem to be coming up just short.

This was supposed to be the year for Dayton. They have come up just short several times this year including two one point losses to both Bellevue and Villa. Dilts has eight seniors on the team who have taken some lumps over the years. It would be nice to see them get things together for the next two months.
