Collins never solved the North Oldham 2-3 zone; North coach David Levitch never had to show any of his "cards" as the Mustangs played the 2-3 zone for 32 straight minutes....

North has now held the region's top scoring team (Walton-Verona, 76 ppg) and the RPI top-rated team in the region (Collins) both to 46 points or less in the first two rounds of the region tournament.

Key moment:   Score tied.  Collins ball, about 2 1/2 minutes to play and Titans milking clock.   All of sudden, Kenyon Goodin picks up the ball about 26 feet from the basket off the left wing, appears confused - as if he had to beat a phantom shot clock - and unexpectedly jacks up a futile three pointer that North rebounded.    North goes downcourt, and - after a timeout - comes out of the timeout with a play to sophomore sharpshooter guard Grant Neal.   Neal - who was 0 for 4 at that point - was wide open, and drained a three pointer to give North a lead they would never surrender the remainder of the way....

North returns to the 8th Region finals for the second straight year.
