Warren Central and Bowling Green should be big favorites to reach the finals, so there wasn't really any truly "bad" or "good" draws for them.  But relatively speaking, Bowling Green got the better draw of the two.  Franklin-Simpson is missing their best player Andreyus Miller, who is out with a hand injury.  Bowling Green has already played and blown out Glasgow, and Clinton County's style is not a match for the Purples.  Barren County is really the only team in the region that I'd give a puncher's chance at either of them, and they're on Warren Central's side.  We'll see if any of it matters!

Man the 4th region sure is down this year besides BG & WC. Late 90’s and early 2000’s the 4th region was loaded with quality teams and even teams like Todd County has really solid squads making the regional final in 2002. Russellville was a problem as well as Barren County, Allen County, FS, Glasgow with Stockton were all threats at some point in time during those years.

1996-2001 was basically a golden age for the region outside the 14th District.  1996 gave us the only 15th District vs. 15th District region final of the modern era.  1999 and 2000 both featured finals that were devoid of 14th District teams.  Barren County won their first title.  Russellville won their first title (and two others).  Five of those six years the region was won by a team outside the 14th District.  That had been preceded by ten straight years of the 14th District winning, and of course afterwards, we're on the run of 20 in a row still.  But the region was a complete grinder back then.  Nowadays, you may have 1-2 teams outside the 14th that have a puncher's chance, but the inability of these teams to gain and sustain momentum is sapping their programs.  The teams that have had a real shot just haven't gotten it done when they had to.  Franklin in 2009, Glasgow in 2012, Barren County in 2016... these were teams that had a real shot but didn't convert.

I don't see this changing next year and after that, Bowling Green is about to hit a run again.
