BluegrassPreps.com 12th Region Week 10 Rankings and Review

Featured Replies

Last week saw, like almost all other regions, a lot of games rescheduled or cancelled. This week offers two of the best games of the year in Lincoln versus Boyle round 2 and North Laurel versus undefeated Pulaski County. There are a ton of rematches on the slate.

Team Rankings

1.      Pulaski County – The Maroons remain undefeated though Harlan County gave them a scare, taking Pulaski down to the wire in a 69 to 65 affair. A fire must have been lit after that game, their closest one since December 20th, as the Maroons came out and pummeled Rockcastle County in their next game, 79 to 50. They square off against North Laurel, Southwestern and Russell County this week. That road game against North Laurel and Reed Sheppard could very well result in the end of their win streak.

2.      Boyle County – The Rebels defeated West Jessamine on the road by 9 with William Carr as leading scorer for Boyle with 18. They fell late in the week in the Ed Stepp/ WCHS Classic at the KSU Exum Center to mighty Trinity by 4. They travel to Lincoln County for the long awaited rematch before hosting Danville and visiting East Jessamine.

3.      Lincoln County – The Patriots got two wins last week over Danville Christian and Madison Southern. They host Boyle County Monday. The Rebels won the first round on their court 43 to 40. It will be interesting to see if Lincoln County can return the favor or if Boyle County will virtually wrap up the first seed for the district. That game is followed by games against Danville and Great Crossing.

4.      Rockcastle County – The Rockets fell twice against great competition last week as they played Pulaski County and North Laurel. They travel to Mercer County and host Bell County this week. Daniel Mullins holds an 18.5 points per game average and Jake Sanders holds a shooting percentage above 60%.

5.      West Jessamine – The Colts played just Boyle County last week and stayed competitive but ultimately lost. Drew Marshall scored 22 in the loss to lead all scorers. They face Woodford County, East Jessamine, and Wayne County this week.

6.  Danville Christian – Danville Christian fell to Lincoln County but got their second win (and first towards district seeding) against Danville. They have an insane week this week as they play Garrard County twice, travel to Casey County, and have their third game against the Ads of Danville.

7.  Wayne County – The Cardinals defeated McCreary Central and Casey County in a pair of 4 point wins before falling to Pickett County (TN). The Cardinals have defined themselves as a 2 headed monster that doesn’t have much depth when it comes to talent, but are well coached and hard working. They continue to slug out wins. They face Somerset, West Jessamine and Barbourville this week.

8.  McCreary Central – The Raiders split last week, beating Somerset but falling to Wayne County. They face Barbourville and Clinton County this week.

9.  Garrard County – The Golden Lions split the yearly series with Danville, dropping their 2nd game with the Ads after winning the first. They play Anderson County, Taylor County, and Danville Christian twice this week.

10. Danville – The Ads got a much needed win over Garrard County but lost to Danville Christian for the second time this year. They get to face rematches against Boyle County, Lincoln County, and DCA this week, all teams they lost to the first time.

11.  Mercer County

12.  Casey County

13.  Somerset

14. Somerset Christian – The Cougars fell to McCreary County, Wayne County and Casey County last week. They face Southwestern on the road this week.

15.  Southwestern

16.  East Jessamine

17.  Burgin

Wow Lincoln beats Boyle

Garrard tops DCA

45th District is still wide open. District seeding going to be fun.

Barek Williams (PC leading scorer from last season) made his debut against Rock Sunday.  Big addition for the undefeated Maroons.

Big W for the Somerset Jumpers tonight against Wayne Co. At Old Monticello Gym in the “Glory Road” series highlighting historic gyms across the state of Kentucky!
